Office of the State Controller Releases February Financial Report

For Fiscal Year 2026, when compared to the prior year through February 28, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which include tax and non-tax receipts. Tax revenues increased by $567.5 million or 2.7 percent, and non-tax revenues decreased by $13.3 million, or 1.3 percent as compared to the previous year.

The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of February 2026 was $2.9 billion as compared to $2.2 billion as of February 2025.

For Fiscal Year 2026, when compared to the prior year through January 31, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which include tax and non-tax receipts. Tax revenues increased by $512.6 million or 2.7 percent, and non-tax revenues decreased by $33.0 million, or 3.6 percent as compared to the previous year.

The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of January 2026 was $2.9 billion as compared to $1.9 billion as of January 2025.
