Office of the State Controller Releases December Financial Report

For Fiscal Year 2025, when compared to the prior year through December 31, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which include tax and non-tax receipts. Tax revenues increased by $760 million or 5.1 percent, and non-tax revenues increased by $158 million, or 26 percent as compared to the previous year.

The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of December 2024 was $2.5 billion as compared to $4.4 billion as of December 2023.

Cash Watch

The Office of the State Controller (OSC) today released the General Fund Cash Watch numbers for the week ending January 3, 2025. OSC provides a weekly update on the State’s General Fund cash position which can be found at ncosc.gov/public-information/news.

Nels Roseland was appointed to serve as the seventh State Controller of North Carolina starting July 1, 2022.  Nels was confirmed unanimously by both houses of the North Carolina Legislature to serve in this office for a term expiring June 30, 2029.
