For Fiscal Year 2026, when compared to the prior year through April 30, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which include tax and non-tax receipts. Tax revenues increased by $1,198 billion or 4.27 percent, and non-tax revenues increased by $17.5 million, or 1.17 percent as compared to the previous year.
The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of April 2026 was $4.6 billion as compared to $3.7 billion as of April 2025.
