Office of the State Controller Releases December Financial Report

For Fiscal Year 2026, when compared to the prior year through December 31, North Carolina experienced an increase in General Fund receipts which include tax and non-tax receipts. Tax revenues increased by $558.2 million or 3.6 percent, and non-tax revenues decreased by $49.6 million, or 6.5 percent as compared to the previous year.

The General Fund’s unreserved fund balance as of December 2025 was $2.3 billion as compared to $2.5 billion as of December 2024.
