MFG-24 Set-up and Maintain Price Segments

Purpose

The purpose of this Quick Reference Guide (QRG) is to provide a step-by-step guide of how to set up and maintain price segments in the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS).

Introduction and Overview

This QRG covers the process of grouping products or transactions based on defined criteria, enabling differentiated pricing strategies in NCFS.

Setting Up & Maintaining Pricing Segments

There are 7 steps to complete this process.

Step 1.    From the Home screen, click the Order Management tab.

Step 2.    Click on Pricing Administration.

Step 3.    Click the Task icon.

Step 4.    Within the Pricing Strategies section, click Manage Pricing Segments.

Step 5.    In the Pricing Segment drop-down, verify the NCCE Pricing Segment is selected.

Step 6.    In the Precedence field, enter the priority number.

Note: The Precedence field value can remain at 100, as there is currently no need to add another Pricing Segment. For example, if the NCCE Pricing Segment has a precedence of 100 and a new segment (e.g., “Commercial") is added and has a precedence of 90, the NCCE Pricing Segment will be applied first. This is because segments with a higher precedence number take priority.

Step 7.    Once all changes have been made, click the Save button.

Note: Currently, only one Pricing Segment exists for DAC: the NCCE Pricing Segment. In the future, if there is a need to further differentiate customers—such as by revenue category or customer ratings—additional Pricing Segments can be added to accommodate these requirements. For now, however, only the NCCE Pricing Segment is in use.
