The Office of the State Controller strives to provide digital services accessible to all users by continuously maintaining standards for an inclusive, accessible experience. Examples of the platform’s accessible design include:
- Logical and consistent navigation;
- Access to information for screen readers and other assistive technology;
- Keyboard accessibility; and
- Legible fonts and colors for easier readability.
The platform is designed to support applicable Section 508 accessibility standards and best practices recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium’s latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for web accessibility. Some of these include but are not limited to:
- Text alternative fields for non-text elements
- All information conveyed with color can also be understood without color
- Identified row and column headers in data tables
- Keyboard only accessibility
- "Skip to main content” link at the top of each page permitting users to skip repetitive navigation links
- Features supporting user control of media content
- Online forms are intended to provide access to all users to information, field elements, and functionality required for completion and submission.
